The H.4 series hydraulic testing presses from LABORTECH are standard machines adapted for precise and repeatable production of DWTT (Drop Weight Tear Test) notches on specimens intended for use with high-capacity DP.3 series drop weight testers. These presses are equipped with special fixtures for notch cutting in accordance with standards ČSN EN 10274, ASTM E 436, GOST 30456-97, and API RP 5L3.

The test specimens have dimensions of 305 mm in length and 76 mm in height. The notch is produced using a specially designed tool with a tip length of 5.5 mm, a tip radius of 0.02 ± 0.01 mm, and a notch angle of 45°. This setup ensures precise tool guidance and consistent notch quality for subsequent toughness testing.

The H.4 press is designed to meet high demands for accuracy and repeatability in specimen preparation for impact tests on DP.3 series drop weight machines, which operate at energies up to 200,000 J and are used to test the toughness of steel materials under extreme conditions.
