Range of application: Wedge shoes are especially used for testing of flat and round samples of metal, wood and very solid and reinforced and filled plastics as textiles.
Functional principle: V-jaw combine the mechanical properties, both mechanical and wedge-shaped jaws.
Determination of thickness and strength building check-performing screws that counteracts wedge jaws. This prevents slipping of the sample at the beginning of the test. Home clamping force causes the wedge effect.
Benefits of V-jaw:
- Clamping force is proportional to the actual tensile strength (self-tightening), which provides a secure mounting a wide range of different materials.
- Minimum length of the head of the sample is 60 mm (10/30 kN) 80 mm (50/100/150 kN) and 100 mm (250 kN), which enables secure attachment of short samples even at maximum power.
- Wedge jaws guarantee a simple and quick mounting for a major maximum strength.
